Don't Judge Wrongly

Bible tattoo

Many Christian's these days are outspokenly against tattooing and they will quote Leviticus 19:28You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves.”

This verse was an old covenant verse that also continues on (in verse 26, 27) to forbid eating any meat with blood in it and forbid cutting your hair! Clearly this was a command for a people at that time and the whole Bible needs to be read in context with the whole of scripture. God told Jonah to go to Nineveh but that doesn't necessarily mean that He wants us to go to Nineveh! What do you think about this topic? Add your comments below

Your body is your canvas!
And your body is your temple well how many of these people that want to take a single verse and turn it around to fit how they feel eat food thats not good for there temple and have a christmas tree in there houses. Isn't there a verse that talks about false idols and graven images in there somewhere? Iv been put into that box just cause I look like I do with tats and piercings. God looks at the mans heart, dont look down on me unless your helping me up! Besides you never know what shape or form God gives his angles so watch out cause you may be entertaining one.

The laws from Moses were hung on the the cross w/ Christ. Christians w/ tattoos in this generations can greatly help save the lost.

Deut22 prohibits the wearing of different fabrics simultaneously. Also, if your daughter has sex outside of marriage, she is to be stoned to death. Some people need to stop cherry picking bible verses. Luke 16:16-The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John; since that time the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.The church and the world have one thing in common. Humans. The most ignorant tend to be the loudest.

I think that the context to that was they were doing weird things because of false God's.... I went to a tattoo convention and there was not a whole lot of cool artists they were all lame... and demonic like flames and hard core things that look like chains around your body lamo but Christian tattoo and ones that are cool art or scriptures and God creation is epic awesomeness so there is also a verse in Revelation God himself has written on his thigh KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!

I once got very legalistic about tattoos thinking it was wrong to get them, but I've come full circle, since re-reading the passage from Leviticus and realising it also condemns a man shaping his beard or shaving the sides of his head. Other scriptures elsewhere command women to keep away from other believers when on their monthly period. Since Christ gave us the new covenant, are we still to adhere to such restrictive rules and regulations that tell us not to touch this or taste that?? I think not. I enjoy a good bacon butty!!

I'm currently covering up a tattoo I had when I was young and foolish and feel led of the Lord to get a few more tattoos besides, which express my faith. I'm praying I get chance to witness to the tattoo artist, as it may be the only exposure he gets to the gospel.

Much love in Jesus to everyone reading this. Fran Wilmott, from England in the UK xxx

Hi all,

I am currently studying a Masters Degree in Photography, and I need your help.

My research is about Christian Tattoos and how they are an expression of the wearer’s faith.

I need your story/testimony.

If you are a Christian and have either Christian or Secular tattos, I would love to hear from you about your journey to your salvation.

If you got a Christian tattoo, why did you get the one you chose? what does it mean to you? and what was your faith journey story?

If you are a Christian and have secular tattoos, why did you get it? what do you feel about it now? what part does it play in your faith journey story?

If you could email me your story along with a photo (or photos) of your tattoo/s it would go an amazingly long way towards my research.

Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks in advance

Richard
